Say hello to your new go-to, everyday comfort slides. SUICOKE, pronounced sui-ko-ke has taken over the streetwear community and revolutionised the footwear game, in particular everyones favourite sandals & slides. SUICOKE have been around since 2006, however has only recently found it’s way into the mainstream fashion scene with both their next level designs and a huge amount of collaborations with some of your favourite brands, including Stussy, Dr Martens, Palm Angels & even torontos very own, Drake with OVO. Lets take a look at what makes this brand so great and why everyone is obsessed with performance sandals.
Interestingly enough, the designers & founders of the brand have chosen to stay under the radar, completely anonymous. Making all you streetwear enthusiasts solely focused on the brand itself, not what is attached to it. An idea to pure all the light into their footwear. Suicoke sandals are made from the most premium materials, you can find natural leather, high quality nylon, buckskin, velour & plenty more. They are always mixing it up, with the Suicoke Dr Marten collaboration, the brand incorporated the leather materials which Doc boots are made from. One of the most talked about features of all these shoes is the Vibram footbed. SUICOKE worked with Vibram to create a custom footbed which can be found on all of their slides, they introduced this in 2014 and were the first brand to every do this in the sandal realm. They stepped it up, quite literally.
The Suicoke Moto-Cab is one of the brands most popular styles. A forever wearable silhouette which provides ridiculous comfort in tonal colour ways such as black, white & khaki. Built with nylon uppers and adjustable velcro straps, the Moto-Cab sandal is as practical as it gets. Clean cut, functional and of course stylish, built with the Vibram sole sitting sturdily on the ground for your feet to slip into.
Lets take a quick glance at some of the brands most iconic collaborations. Firstly, Suicoke x OVO. Not once, but twice these two brands have joined forces to create some magic. The duo came with heat, bringing the Suicoke Pepper lows and reworking them with a custom waterproof shell in a Safety orange & Night Black colour way, along with Drake’s OVO branding hits around them. Suicoke x Carhartt WIP is a recent delivery which is available at FallenFront NZ. We all know and love Carhartt, a streetwear & workwear brand like no other, the collaboration saw the popular Moto-Cab take a turn, introducing materials such as canvas, taking inspiration from Carhartt WIP’s Detroit Jacket. These come in a clean workwear brown colour way and will elevate any outfit you choose to rock. Along with these two, SUICOKE has collaborated with, Engineered Garments, Study, Moncler, NEIGHBORHOOD & too many more to name.
