The classic Asics EX89™ sneaker fuses the iconic design of the GEL-EXTREME basketball shoe from 1989 with modern cushioning technology. Designed by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s, it features a layered upper with colorblocking reminiscent of models worn by NBA teams during the era. The sockliner and midsole are upgraded with FF BLAST™ cushioning, while a sculpted heel shape boosts shock absorption. The outsole is designed to mimic the view of a city from above, a concept inspired by the designer's first US trip in 1987.
